Camp Fire USA Paint Out

Camp Fire USA is proud to present its inaugural competitive Plein Air Paint Out in the beautiful Fort Worth Botanic Garden, to be held October 23 – 26, 2008.

Free to the public, guests can see up to 30 artists create a live painting and watch their artistic interpretation of their subject, the natural environment of the Botanic Garden, come to life on canvas.

On Sunday, October 26, a Quick Draw Competition will be held at 10:30AM, which challenges the artists to create a painting in four hours. All paintings from the Camp Fire USA Paint Out will be available for pre-bidding at the Paint Out event and for final bidding at “An Artists’ Christmas” event. A VIP Artists’ Awards Reception will also be held at the Botanic Garden on Sunday, October 26 at 3PM.

An Artists' Christmas

In its 24th year, Camp Fire's dinner gala and auction known as An Artists' Christmas has become a tradition among Fort Worth patrons and marks the beginning of the festive holiday season.

The event features an art exhibition, silent and live auction of more than 100 pieces of donated art, dinner, dancing and live music. Underwriting and table sponsorships, along with the art auction, generate significant income for the many programs and services provided by Camp Fire to thousands of deserving youth across north Texas.

Annual Meeting

January 28, 2008 at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens

Camp Fire USA First Texas Council is governed by a volunteer board of directors, all of whom are leaders within north Texas communities. Every January, the board of directors hosts an annual meeting to address business such as:

  • the election of new members, officers and nominating committees 
  • changes to Camp Fire by-laws and articles of incorporation 
  • adopting resolutions which guide the board in its administration of the council 

The annual meeting is also used to recognize distinguished members of the board, tenured staff and to spotlight community partners, volunteers and program participants.

The 2008 Annual Meeting is scheduled for noon on January 28, 2008 at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. For more information, call Donna Elton at 817-831-2111 ext 102.
Celebration of Champions

Save the date: April 30, 2009!

Celebration of Champions, a dinner and awards ceremony, recognizes excellence in childcare and honors those who have made an investment in their careers and a difference in the lives of our children.

Hosted in conjunction with the Fort Worth Area Association for the Education of Young Children, Celebration of Champions raises funds to provide scholarships for the continued training of child care professionals.
