Out of School Time Coordinator – North Texas Youth Education Town

Description:

Plans, develops, directs, leads and evaluates the day-to-day operations of the After School Program (ASP) and Summer Day Camp (SDC) in conjunction with the

Manager of Co-Curricular Activities; maintains an environment conducive to the growth and development of the children, parents, and staff consistent with the policies and mission of The Salvation Army. 

Under the direction of the Manager of Co-Curricular Activities, incorporates character building programming with ASP and SDC activities, communicates

operating procedures, policies, and goals for the ASP and SDC; ensures the smooth operation of the After School Program and Summer Day Camp program;

supervises the permanence and stability of the programs to maintain compliance with accreditation and licensing requirements, state and local regulations; ensures

ASP and SDC operations are in compliance with The Salvation Army philosophy and policies.

Oversees daily activities of children to ensure program participation; ensures the cleanliness, safety and orderliness of environment; observes both staff and children

for safety, health and risk potentials.

Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates all ASP and SDC staff; provides direction and oversight to designated staff by demonstrating competence in essential and

non-essential job duties; schedules staff according to child/staff ratio requirements in accordance with licensing and Safe from Harm requirements; leads out of school

time training, Safe from Harm training, and development workshops. 

Promotes various Youth Services Programs in the community and specifically to perspective families and collaborative partners; ensures youth service programs

are in compliance with state licensing and local health & fire regulations; leads the out of school staff in the implementation of curriculum that is age appropriate,

stimulating, educational and supportive of mission.

Experience, Education, Licenses:

Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, Education or a related field AND

Two years progressively responsible experience in a child developmental program with a strong emphasis on curriculum development and supervision of childcare

personnel or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience in a licensed facility.

Current State of Texas Childcare Director’s License

Valid State of Texas driver license, CDL with passenger endorsement preferred

CPR and First Aid cerfifications or ability to obtain within two weeks of hire

Director

 Ridglea Country Club is a private member owned club.  It includes amenities such as two (2) 18 hole golf courses,

eleven (11) outdoor tennis courts, dining rooms, a fitness center, pool and a licensed day care facility.  The goal of the

day care is provided our members with a safe, educational environment for their children while in our care. 

 The Director of Daycare is a management position that is responsible for the day to day operations, including the

direct supervision of the children.  The Director is responsible for ensuring the wellbeing of the children while on

property as well as meeting all state and Club regulations.  The Director will be responsible for creating daily activity curriculums for the children, billing, maintaining required documentation and communicating to the families as needed.

 The daycare is open Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm and on Friday and Saturday

from 9:00 am to 12:00 midnight.  The day care staff consist of the Director and 1 to 2 additional hourly employees

who cover the schedule.  Reservations for the children are required to help manage the schedule.  The Director’s days

and hours will be determined  in conjunction with the General Manager and other staff will be determined by the

Directors to ensure complete coverage.  The Club is closed on Mondays.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma/GED (required).  Minimum of twelve months experience working in a related position or field; cooking experience in a licensed child care or school
setting is preferred. Must be able to plan and prepare nutritious meals according to USDA CACFP guidelines; order food; maintain clean kitchen and storage environment; and complete and maintain
