CEU stands for Continuing Education. CEU’s are awarded through an agreement with a college or university. Currently, Camp Fire has an agreement with the University of Texas at Arlington to issue our CEU credit certificates. Some teachers and directors, who hold a Child Development Associate, need Continuing Education Units to renew their CDA credential. In addition, since CEU’s never expire, some community colleges can convert Continuing Education hours into college credit (this varies by college). CEU’s are equal to clock hour training certificates (licensing accepts both) and cost an extra $15. It typically takes about 6 weeks to get a CEU certificate issued from UTA.
