Aledo After-School programs began in the Spring of 2007 and have grown to become a great addition to the Aledo community. Programming is offered at four elementary schools in Aledo: Coder, Stuard, McCall and Vandagriff.
The summer program meets at McAnally Intermediate School, and is an engaging alternative to the summertime blues. Regularly scheduled field trips provide a wide variety of activities including swimming, skating, bowling and nature trips.
Our programs are high-quality, structured programs that maintain staff-to-student ratios, which are lower than those mandated by the state licensing agency. Programs are designed to engage the children in activities that encourage interaction, physical activity, life skills, education and leadership development.
EnCana Oil & Gas has generously provided the opportunity for students in Camp Fire USA’s Aledo after-school program to experience Camp Fire USA’s new Outdoor Education Curriculum at Camp El Tesoro. Students at each school will receive a one hour visit from the Outdoor Education Staff where they will receive an introductory lesson on the topic of fossils. On a separate day, students will have the opportunity to go to Camp El Tesoro, located in Granbury, for a full afternoon of programming during an early release day in November.
