Summer Day Camp

Did you know?
During the 2008 school year, Camp Fire provided after-school programs for more than 1200 students.

Why After-School Programs?
Each day when school lets out, as many as 15 million youth in the U.S. find themselves with “nothing to do.” Researchers have found that teens who are not occupied after school are more likely to use drugs, commit crimes and be involved in a car accident. No wonder that some law enforcement officials refer to the hours between 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. as “the danger zone.” Instead of this free time translating into trouble, after-school programs provide a safe, educational and fun alternative.

How Camp Fire steps in:
Serving the local community, Camp Fire USA offers a variety of after-school programs that provide tutoring and homework help for children while participating in a variety of enrichment activities. Summer and school break day camp are also available.

Summer and School Break Day Camp
An affordable full-day camp where children participate in recreational activities, arts, swimming, cooking-out, nature study and field trips to local attractions. Financial assistance is available. Offered June through August and during school breaks. For more information, call 817-831-2111.
