El Tesoro de la Vida is a week-long resident camp for boys and girls, ages 6 - 17, who have lost a loved one through death. The program consists of 90% traditional camping activities and 10% activities structured to help children through the natural grieving process. Traditional camp activities include horseback riding, archery, canoeing, hiking, nature study, swimming, crafts, sports and games.
Campers are placed in cabins by age and gender with two adult volunteers educated in the grieving process. Certified professional counselors are on-site at all times and lead the small group sessions.
This camp is made possible in part through the generosity of many individuals, foundations and organizations in the community.
