We are excited that you are considering Camp Fire Child Development Center (CDC) as your family’s child care provider.
Camp Fire's Child Development Center provides comprehensive early childhood care and education. Children from six weeks old through pre-kindergarten are exposed to developmentally appropriate programming. Implementing a High/Scope Curriculum model, teachers are able to facilitate the physical, social/emotional and cognitive growth of each child in their care.
We are able to offer such a high level of quality for many reasons including the education and training of each teacher, our lower child-to-teacher ratios, smaller overall class sizes and the awareness that building caring, confident youth and future leaders start in a child’s early years.
Licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services as a child care facility, Camp Fire CDC, follows “best practices” in the field of early childhood as suggested by both the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the National Accreditation Commission (NAC). Camp Fire USA believes in inclusiveness, welcoming anyone regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic status, ability and other aspects of diversity.

A Brief History
A fixture in the community for almost a century, Camp Fire First Texas Council opened the CDC in 1993 to create a quality environment for children and provide opportunities for upcoming early childhood teachers to learn how to replicate the level of quality seen at the CDC in their own classrooms through our learning lab and community education partnerships.
Almost 20 years later, the CDC continues to provide exceptional levels of quality care from our tenured teachers and staff.
